Born in Dallas, Texas on March 11, 2002. 7:12 pm
Kiah weighed 8 lb 9.9 oz and was 20 inches long!
Her due date was the 5th...we tried to have her on the 8th...but she wanted to wait until the 11th...She always did do things in her own time!

4 days old

Kiah had her first heart operation, a BT shunt at 4 days old...

4 months old

At 4 months of age Kiah developed Endocarditis...a bacterial infection in her heart..she underwent emergancy surgery...

9 months old

Kiah underwent her 3rd heart surgery at 9 months old...she had a banded Glenn Shunt. I remember thinking to myself, after seeeing her in recovery, "I have a new child"...for the fist time in MONTHS, she felt GOOD...it was amazing...

9 months to 2 1/2 years

The next 2 years were filled with wonderful, life activities and memories...Kiah grew so fast, and talked up a storm. I swear she was 2 going on 10! We did all the wonderful everyday things...and created memories that now have to sustain us until we see her again.

Kiah celebrated her first birthday with family and friends...she had more presents than I have ever seen! I think her favorite gift came form her grandma bethie...a wooden drum...(thanks mom!)

When Kiah was 14 months old we moved in our first house! Kiah had a big, wonderful room and a huge backyard where we would play and do sidewalk chalk on the patio...

Her dad and I both decided after watching some recent video of her 2nd Christmas, 03, that we went way overboard! But imagine our first Christmas in our new home with our healthy baby? It was such a blessing!

February of 04, Kiah got to see her first snowfall! Yes! It actually snowed in Dallas, Texas! My mom took her on a wagon ride to see and feel the snow...(thanks again mom)

Kiah turned 2 and we celebrated with Chucky Cheese! It was a time that was...a little over whelming for a two year old I think!

April of 04, Kiah's Aunt jessi got married and she was the prettiest flower girl you ever would have seen! She really did throw down the flowers! I was amazed...
at Aunt Jessie's house over the wedding week is where Kiah learned to sleep in a "big" bed...we got home and moved her right in to her "big girl bed"...she was so proud to be in her BIG BED!

Memorial Day 04, we went to the Zoo! it was so hot out, but we braved the heat and the crowds and took Kiah to see the Monkeys! We had a great time!

July 04, we spent the 4th of July at Grandma Bethie's house in Lindsborg, Kansas...Kiah got her first experience of fireworks..she held her first sparkler!

Some where in all of that we started potty training...she was so proud of going "peep" in the potty....and she soon moved from diapers to pull up and then to "barney panties"...

August 04, we went in for a Cardiac check up...Kiah had been showing "heart signs"...tired, shallow breathing, bluer lips....it was determined that her Pulmonary Veins, they carry your oxygen to your lungs, they were narrowing and she would need surgery.....

September 7th 04

Kiah underwent her 4th and final heart surgery on September 7th 04...
it was a successful surgery to open her Pulmonary veins. Kiah recovered well and we went home 6 days later!

November 8th 04

November 8th 2004, will be a day that is forever etched in my mind.
It is the last day that Kiah was in her house, the last day we were a family in our home. There are days and times that will forever be burned in your mind, this was one of those days for me.

November 30th 2004

My daughter earned her "angel wings" on November 30th 2004, 4:50 am. She always did say she "was my angel", I guess she knew long before I did....
